3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
