The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
