۞ And We inspired Moses, saying: Take away My slaves by night, for ye will be pursued. 52 The Pharaoh sent word to all the cities saying, 53 Verily these are but a band small. 54 "And verily, they have done what has enraged us; 55 and we are a host on our guard' 56 So We expelled them from gardens and fountains, 57 and [deprived them of their erstwhile] station of honour!" 58 Thus it was, but We made the Children of Israel inheritors of such things. 59 The people of the Pharaoh pursued them at sunrise. 60 and as soon as the two hosts came in sight of one another, the followers of Moses exclaimed: "Behold, we shall certainly be overtaken [and defeated]!" 61 [Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me." 62 We commanded Moses: "Smite the sea with your staff." And it parted, and every parting was like a lofty mountain. 63 And We brought the others close to that place. 64 We saved Moses and all the people with him 65 then, We drowned the others. 66 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 67 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 68
