The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
