Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
