"Truly! The Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) will be amidst Gardens and water-springs (Paradise). 45 (Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in peace and security." 46 We shall strip away all rancour that is in their breasts; as brothers they shall be upon couches set face to face; 47 Toil shall not afflict them in it, nor shall they be ever ejected from it. 48 ۞ Announce to My creatures that I am indeed forgiving and kind, 49 And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment. 50 And tell them about the guests (the angels) of Ibrahim (Abraham). 51 [how,] when they presented themselves before him and bade him peace, he answered: "Behold, we are afraid of you!" 52 They said: be not afraid; verily we bear thou the glad tidings of a boy knowing. 53 Abraham asked, "Are you giving me the glad news of a son in my old age? What reason can you give for such glad news?" 54 They said: we bear tidings of a truth; be then thou not of the desponding. 55 Abraham said: "Who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except the misguided?" 56 He said: What is your business then, O apostles? 57 They said: Surely we are sent towards a guilty people, 58 Except Lot's family, of whom we shall save all, 59 except his wife who is doomed to be left behind." 60
