And Harun (Aaron) indeed had said to them beforehand: "O my people! You are being tried in this, and verily, your Lord is (Allah) the Most Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order." 90 They replied, "We shall not cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 Moses said to Aaron, "What prevented you, when you saw that they had gone astray, 92 From coming after me? Did you not disobey my command?" (And Moses pulled him by the hair). 93 He [Harun (Aaron)] said: "O son of my mother! Seize (me) not by my beard, nor by my head! Verily, I feared lest you should say: 'You have caused a division among the Children of Israel, and you have not respected my word!' " 94 Moses said: "What, then, is your case, O Samiri?" 95 He said, "I perceived what they did not see. So I took a handful [of dust] from the footprint of the Messenger and threw it in [the calf]. That is what my inner self prompted me to do." 96 'Begone! Your lot in this life is to cry: "untouchable!' said he (Moses). 'An appointment awaits you that you cannot fail to keep. Look at your god which you clung to indeed we will burn it and scatter its ashes upon the sea' 97 Your god is only Allah, except for whom there is no deity. He has encompassed all things in knowledge." 98 Thus We tell you, (Muhammad), the stories of the past and We have given you the Quran. 99 All who shall turn away from it will, verily, bear a [heavy] burden on the Day of Resurrection: 100 And will live for ever under it. How evil the burden they will carry on the Day of Doom! 101 On the day when the Trumpet is blown and We shall assemble the guilty on that day, blue -eyed. 102 In whispers will they speak to each other (saying): "You stayed not longer than ten (days)." 103 We know best what they will say, when their leader most eminent in conduct will say: "Ye tarried not longer than a day!" 104
