Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
