Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
