Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 as black camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
