The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
