The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
