Mention in the Book Abraham; He was truthful and a Prophet. 41 When he said to his father; O my father! why do you worship what neither hears nor sees, nor does it avail you in the least: 42 O My father! verily there hath come to me of the knowledge which hath not come unto thee; so follow me, and I shall guide thee to a path even. 43 "O my father! Worship not Shaitan (Satan). Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has been a rebel against the Most Beneficent (Allah). 44 Father, I fear that a punishment from the Most Compassionate Lord might strike you and you may end up as one of Satan's companions?" 45 Said he, 'What, art thou shrinking from my gods, Abraham? Surely, if thou givest not over, I shall stone thee; so forsake me now for some while.' 46 He said: Peace be unto thee! I shall ask forgiveness of my Lord for thee. Lo! He was ever gracious unto me. 47 And I will leave you and those you invoke other than Allah and will invoke my Lord. I expect that I will not be in invocation to my Lord unhappy." 48 So when he turned away from them and those they worshipped, other than Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob. Each of them We made a Prophet, 49 And We bestowed on them of Our mercy, and We made for them a renown lofty. 50
