And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
