The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
