Say: "Who guards you from Ar-Rahman by night and by day?" Yet from a mention of their Lord they turn away. 42 Or have they gods that can guard them from Us? They have no power to aid themselves, nor can they be defended from Us. 43 Nay, We have allowed these [sinners] - as [We allowed] their forebears - to enjoy the good things of life for a great length of time: but then - have they never yet seen how We visit the earth [with Our punishment,] gradually depriving it of all that is best thereon? Can they, then, [hope to] be the winners? 44 Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I warn you only by the Inspiration. But the deaf hear not the call when they are warned. 45 And if a blast of the chastisement of your Lord were to touch them, they will certainly say: O woe to us! surely we were unjust. 46 On the Day of Resurrection We shall set up just scales, so that no soul shall in the least be wronged, even though it be the weight of a grain of mustard seed We will bring it; We Suffice as reckoners. 47 And We had already given Moses and Aaron the criterion and a light and a reminder for the righteous 48 those who fear Allah in the Unseen, tremble because of the Hour. 49 This is a Blessed Admonition that We have revealed. Are you, then, going to reject it? 50
