The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Verily your God is One. 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 And also our forefathers? 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 (It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
