The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And shade extended 30 and flowing water 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
