The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
