The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
