Say: I am only a warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all): 65 Lord of the heavens and earth and everything between them, the Almighty, the Most Forgiving." 66 Say: It is a message of importance, 67 To which you pay no heed. 68 I had no knowledge of the chiefs on high when they disputed; 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 and when I give it proper shape and blow My spirit into it, bow down in prostration to him," 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 Except Iblis; he was proud and was, from the beginning, a disbeliever. 74 He said: O Iblis! What hindereth thee from falling prostrate before that which I have created with both My hands? Art thou too proud or art thou of the high exalted? 75 Answered [Iblis]: "I am better than he: Thou hast created me out of fire, whereas him Thou hast created out of clay." 76 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state] - for, behold, thou art henceforth accursed, 77 "And My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment." 78 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 79 Said Allah, “You are therefore among those given respite.” 80 “Until the time of the known day.” 81 He said: by Thy majesty, then, I shall surely seduce them, all. 82 excepting those Thy servants among them that are sincere.' 83 The Lord said, "I swear by the Truth - and I speak the Truth - 84 I will certainly fill the Gehenna with you and with all those among them who follow you.” 85 Say: I do not ask you for any reward for it; nor am I of those who affect: 86 This is nothing else but a reminder to all the worlds, 87 You will come to know its truth in time." 88
