Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
