The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He has created man: 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
