The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
