Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 therein uplifted couches 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
