▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 it is a warning to man, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except the people of the right hand 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 Of evil-doers: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 we fed not the needy, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
