The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
