The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 The companions of the pit were killed 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they sat by it, 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
