Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and, behold, Ours is [the dominion over] the life to come as well as [over] this earlier part [of your life]: 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He verily will be content. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
