We swear that We have created the human being and We know what his soul whispers to him. We are closer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 When the two (angels) who keep the account, one sitting on the right, one on the left, take it down, 17 not a word he utters, but by him is an observer ready. 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!" 22 And his companion will say: 'This is that which I have present' 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 who is an opponent of good, a suspicious transgressor 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat. 28 The word will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants." 29
