The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man, 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
