Nay, by the Moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
