Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
