The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created the human 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
