Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
