The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 We destroyed the others 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
