۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 What, do we then not die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
