Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things, 1 Who created death and life in order to try you to see who of you are best of deed. He is all-mighty and forgiving, 2 Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?" 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord will be the torment of Hell; and a hapless destination! 6 When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, 7 as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say, "Yes, someone did come to warn us, but we rejected him saying, 'God has revealed nothing. You are in great error". 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 Shall He who has created (all things) not know? He is the Subtle, the Aware. 14
