Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
