The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great tidings! 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 and gave you repose in sleep, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
