The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
