The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
