And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And We place therein gardens of the date-palms and vines; and We therein cause to gush forth springs. 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And the night is another Sign for them. We strip the day from it and they become plunged in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth to its appointed term: that is the disposition of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And a sign unto them is that We bear their offspring in a laden ship. 41 And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 It is only Our Mercy (that rescues them) and enables enjoyment of life for a while. 44 When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when it is said to them: “Spend (in the Way of Allah) out of the sustenance that Allah has provided you,” the unbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed him whom, Allah would have fed, had He so wished?” Say: “You are in evident error.” 47 They also say: 'When will this promise be, if what you say is true' 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 Then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen. 50
