He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him you give attention. 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 May man be slain how ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
