AND, INDEED, We sent forth Noah unto his people and he said: "O my people! Worship God alone: you have no deity other than Him. Will you not, then, become conscious of Him?" 23 But the eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, "This is not but a man like yourselves who wishes to take precedence over you; and if Allah had willed [to send a messenger], He would have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our forefathers. 24 He is not but a man possessed with madness, so wait concerning him for a time." 25 "O my Lord," prayed (Noah), "help me against them, for they accuse me of lies." 26 So We revealed to him, saying: Make the ark before Our eyes and (according to) Our revelation; and when Our command is given and the valley overflows, take into it of every kind a pair, two, and your followers, except those among them against whom the word has gone forth, and do not speak to Me in respect of those who are unjust; surely they shall be drowned. 27 And when you and all those with you are seated in the Ark, say: 'Praise be to Allah who has saved us from the harmdoing nation' 28 And say: "My Lord! Make my landing a blessed landing, for You are the Best of those Who can cause people to land in safety." 29 Indeed, surely in this are signs and indeed surely, We were examining. 30 Then after them, We created another generation. 31 And We sent to them a Messenger from among themselves (saying): "Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His Punishment because of worshipping others besides Him)?" 32
