Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 Who amasses wealth and hordes it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 in towering columns. 9
