Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 34 Condemned till the day of Doom!" 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44
