And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
