(Muhammad) say, "I am only a warner. The only Lord is God, the Almighty. 65 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Mighty, the most Forgiving. 66 Say: "This is a message tremendous: 67 (And) you are turning aside from it: 68 I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam]. 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 When your Lord said to the angels: 'I am creating a human from clay, 71 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 Except Iblis (Satan) he was proud and was one of the disbelievers. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 Said he, 'I am better than he; Thou createdst me of fire, and him Thou createdst of clay.' 76 "Begone! You are accursed: 77 "And My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment." 78 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 79 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 80 Till the period of the time made known. 81 He said, “Therefore, by oath of Your honour, I will surely mislead all of them.” 82 except those among them who are Your sincere worshipers' 83 (Allah) said: "The Truth is, and the Truth I say, 84 [That] I will surely fill Hell with you and those of them that follow you all together." 85 Say, "I do not ask you for any recompense for this, nor am I a man of false pretentions: 86 this is simply an admonition to mankind, 87 “And you will come to know of its tidings, after a while.” 88
