Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ He said: "What is then your business, O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
